After Hours

After office hours and on weekends, the doctors alternate being "on call." One of the doctors from this office will be available 24 hours a day. Our service is never covered by a physician unfamiliar to you. Call our regular office number first and you will be given instructions on how to reach a specially trained nurse practitioner. If you feel strongly that you must speak to one of the doctors, please notify the answering service of this. Keeping your line open will facilitate our reaching you promptly.

It is not our policy to prescribe medications over the telephone. Routine medication refills will be handled during regular office hours.

Emergencies

In the event of an emergency, please contact us day or night, informing the receptionist or answering service that you have an emergency. We will arrange to see the child or direct you to the appropriate emergency room. With respect to medical care for children, not all hospitals are equally skilled and we prefer you use the emergency room we designate, which will depend on the situation. If you have arrived in an emergency room before contacting us, please ask the emergency room physician to contact us.
